Mackies is situated in the historic city of Lancaster in the 18th century town hall square. We recommend a vist to the city where, amongst other attractions, you will find the largest and most impressive folly in Britain (the Williamson Memorial) and the magnificent Lancaster Castle built on a Roman site and dating back to the 11th century. Lancaster was also home to the celebrated 18th century cabinet maker Robert Gillow.  If you do visit Mackies make sure you leave enough time to visit Lancaster's other fine independent retailers.  Lancaster is a few minutes drive from junctions 33 and 34 off the M6 motorway. Nearest airports are Manchester, Blackpool and Liverpool and Lancaster is three hours from London on the West coast line from Glasgow to London Euston.
